The Attack on Women’s Rights in Poland

Why did I create this informational typography and design book? Illegalizing abortion is a direct attack on women’s reproductive rights, and it is happening or has been talked about all over the world in different countries including the United States. Being woman, a U.S citizen, and a Polish American (3rd gen.) this hits home. It makes me concerned not only for women’s rights everywhere including Poland, but it makes me think about what is ahead for the United States and my home. Illegalizing abortion has been a heavily talked about subject between politics and overall people’s opinion. But let’s keep in mind - opinion is NOT fact, and we must not think of it as such. During the Trump Administration, Trump actively rolled back women’s reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood funding. With Americas protests on police brutality with active support from BLM, ACAB and many others during the Covid-19 pandemic… You can’t help but think if the United States continues down this road with hypothetically (right now) illegalizing abortion and not separating church from state. Then we may be looking at protests much like the ones in Poland right now. We as American Women standing hand-in-hand with Polish women right now WILL also fi ght back for our rights for that men in the white house, men in congress, men in the senate cannot and will NOT take away from us. Fight for women’s rights all over the world, fight for your rights, Fight for your daughter, mother, wife, friend, LGBTQ, and for your neighbor’s rights. Because we control what we do with our bodies, not old white conservative men in politics in Washington.
